conned

spring break 2011 has been awesome so far, and it is not over yet. BUT, if i were to sum up our adventures thus far in one word it would have to be this: conned.

if you want to know why, you can ask me later.

this vacation has been quite... ecclectic. we have stayed in a marriott, a random resort, a hostel, and now we are in a home. we have done everything from sightseeing, to beach bumming, to bike riding, to fondue, to sitting on a couch and watching pride and prejudice (love mr. darcy). we have been in the center of rome, the middle of nowhere, the vatican city, and now a little country cottage in a quaint little town in switzerland. after seeing a few geneva delights, we headed on the train to the town of mies where jamie's roommate's family lives. random, yes. perfect, absolutely.

they have been so kind to us and we have just had the most relaxing day. we even got to make PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY sandwiches for lunch. i could not have been happier! we sat on couches and went to the grocery store and sampled swiss chocolate and had a real family dinner. simple and sweet and just what we needed. everyday is an adventure. and now, for some PICTURES, in no particular order that are just a FEW of the highlights thus far...

  1. the gelato in italy is probably one of my all time food hilights of my LIFE!! 3 times a day for 2 weeks straight for me - wasn't near enough. and i can't bring myself to eat "gelato" in the states for fear of ruining my perfect memory of it. i plan on going back to italy with my lovah and eating gelato all day long... very soon. i don't know when, but it will happen. thank you for enjoying yourself so thoroughly. je taime!

  2. So Madsy, where was the Marriott Hotel where you had your breakfast trays sitting on a table on a balcony overlooking the city? Roma? If so what was the name? Wow, what an exquisite trip in three countries in three days! We found a gelato store in SLC at the corner of 9th South and 9th East...it is made from scratch, not from mix. We will go there for your evaluation now that you are a connoiseur of gelato. Live every day as if it were the last and...you are doing it up right and making us happy with the beautiful photos and wonderful commentary. Lots of love, granpere et granmere hart
